Uber Scooters Removed In San DIego

No More Uber Scooters (Jump) In San Diego – What’s the Alternative?

I have talked to many people in San Diego California that like these electric scooters and some that hate them. And I totally understand why from both sides.

Why People Hate The Electric Scooters for Rent?

  • Historically has caused many accidents
  • Several users just leave them anywhere, sometimes blocking other roads or pedestrian walk ways

Why People Love The Electric Scooters?

  • Current daily routine requires a lot of walking and the scooters help get from point a to point b for distances that are too close to drive, but too long to walk.
  • Helps solve the problem of parking when driving to a place close for some quick errand, and parking is an issue.
  • Get’s more out of the day if walking consumes at lot of time.
  • Some people feel lazy to walk or run.
  • Currently does not own a car or has car troubles.

What are the options now that Uber Scooters are gone in San Diego?

Uber’s electric dockless scooters are branded as Jump, a company they acquired before. If they are pulling out of San Diego due to new regulations , you still have the option to use Bird and Lime. However Uber has a minor stake in Lime, we don’t know if Lime is disappearing in San Diego.

But if in the long run Bird and Lime also go away, personally in my opinion. That would be a good thing. And people that really want an electric scooter, then maybe it’s time to think of buying one. That way, people that use it are the ones that really know how to use, which leads to less accidents, and since they own it, they won’t leave it around wherever.

There are a bunch of electric scooter options on Amazon in all different price ranges. Here are a few, and for your convenience they are linked to Amazon where you can buy them.

Electric Scooters $100 or Less

HOVERSTAR Electric Kick Start Scooter

Cheapest one out there I could find, also with the largest variety of colors.

Electric Scooters From $100 to $150

Razor Power Core E90 Electric Scooter

Razor E100 Glow Electric Scooter

Electric Scooters From $150 to $200

Razor E200 Electric Scooter

Don’t know why the Teal one is cheaper than the white one.

Costzon Electric Scooter

Electric Scooters From $200 to $250

ROCKETX 6.5″ Wheel Folding Electric Kick Scooter

Electric Scooters From $250 to $300

Razor E300S Seated Electric Scooter

Looks like it coms in grey and pink, if standing is tiring, this is a seated option and I am not sure why the pink is $10 bucks cheaper than the gray.

ROCKETX 8″ Wheel Electric Scooter

Viro Rides Vega Transforming 2-in-1 Electric Scooter and Mini Bike

This one is one of the best in my opinion. It can convert with and without a seat.

Electric Scooters From $300 to $350

YDS Electric Scooter

Electric Scooters From $350 to $400

Macwheel MX1 Electric Scooter

I find it interesting how some of these scooters are really bulky, and some are so thin. How do you fit in batteries and an electric motor in this? I don’t know if this will be inferior or this is why the price tag is higher.

WiLEES Foldable Electric Scooter

Ninebot S Smart Self Balancing Transporter by Segway

Not exactly the same scooter like all the others, and this most likely cannot be called a scooter at all, but it can serve the same purpose.

Electric Scooters From $750 to $800

Segway Ninebot ES4 Folding Electric Kick Scooter

Expensive but looks top of the line. Nice and slim and has some backup battery. Plus it’s foldable so it’s easy to bring anywhere in a car.

City Hopper Electric Scooter

So bulky for such an expensive price. At least it has a seat compared to the Segway Ninebot, but  think the Ninebot still looks better.

Electric Scooters More than $1,000

NANROBOT Power D5+

This one is $1,300+! The main thing that makes this special is the 2000W power, 40MPH, with 50 mile travel capacity.
