My SEO Contest History

I have joined several SEO contest in the past, I joined Isulong SEOph and Ituloy angSulong and did not get the top spots. I joined Vorgermilten SEO competition and got the top spot just to find out it was a hoax.

Even if I won to a hoax contest, I still gave the SEO World Championship SEO challenge a try and fortunately won a car. ShopAutoDotCa, another hoax contest came out, I got a domain, but was barely able to do anything and just gave the domain away a few months after. I also have several, not only 1, Paradise Philippines domains but found the contest too tiring where added points were given to the number of pages indexed in the SERPs. The more pages you had ranking the higher the points. Just thinking about it sound tiring as you have to work on more pages that will all rank well. Sounds like a ORM contest. I just let my Paradise Philippines domains expire just recently.

2nd Place Winner at SEOContest2008 by UK Webmaster World

After winning the GlobalWarming Awareness2007 SEO contest that started in January 2007, I was waiting for the same so called “annual” contest in January 2008. And I didn’t find any and instead found SEOContest2008 by UK Webmaster World. Prize was way smaller but that was the only one existing that time. I just won 2nd place this time, where the French powerhouse team, SEO Sphere with Paul and Kad the more visible people behind the 30-man French team. It was a good contest and I guess it is nice to know Kad as well as he will be helping out with some French campaign of ours (at my SEO job) so the French connection is good.

Here comes Busby SEO Challenge

After a fresh 2nd place win from SEOContest2008, here comes Busby SEO Challenge by Australian company Busby Web Solution. Now the same people meet again and again. Contest after contest. The French SEO Sphere Team, 1st place in SEOContest2008, Indonesian Dwi aka Pogung who was 4th in SEOContest2008, myself a Filipino who was 2nd place as well as Eli Tapiador, also a Filipino was 3rd. In the SEOContest2008, in the top 10, there were 3 Indonesians and also 3 Filipinos (Me, Eli and Ed Canape), but the main winner was the 1 website with a 30-man French team.

Unfortunately Eli, Ed and I has not put in much work to our Busby SEO Challenge contest entries as many of us are busy already. And so far it looks like Dwi might get this award this time. He is leading past the French team with a less than 3 weeks left.

In almost every SEO contest I’ve joined, I have seen 4 main countries consistenly in the top 10. France, Indonesia, India and the Philippines. Although I am US-based, I still consider myself part of the Philippine team.

How is the Philippines doing in the this SEO Challenge by Busby Web Solution of Australia

Not that good. Many of us Filipinos has already been inactive due to work. but there are still a few that are pushing their way through. I barely had time to work on my own entry, that I just planned on helping out, but I even barely have the time to work on helping out as well. But still given the little time I have, I will still go out and help in whatever way I still can. So calling also to other Filipinos… please help our countrymen.

• Felixberto Baguyo - Busby SEO Challenge: Also ranking on first page in Google USA, the Philippine SEO from the province of Capiz has been showing several hardworking SEO professionals where some of them have been actively sending me some IMs with some questions from time to time. I just find it amazing seeing more areas of the Philippines showing good SEO talent. Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, Pangasinan, Cebu, Olongapo and Capiz. So far they are the top 3 Pinoys in Busby SEO Challenge and i believe they need a little more push. Let’s help them out.
